Kramer Motors donates vehicle to VIP Service

Our Vision in People (VIP) Day Service for people with learning disabilities are celebrating this week after receiving the generous donation of a 2014 seven seater Ford Focus C-Max car from Kramer Motors.

Carl Kramer owner of Kramer Motors caused quite a flurry of excitement when he arrived at our Head Office to deliver the vehicle and handed the keys over to the team, fully serviced and with a brand new MOT.  Staff and service users alike are excited about having a new vehicle they can use to attend work placements and hopefully, more fun days out in the summer once restrictions are lifted.

Kramer Motors has been providing MOTs, vehicle servicing & repairs in Preston and surrounding areas for over 30 years and has serviced and undertaken MOTs for Caritas Care’s vehicles.

Carl said, “We’ve completed the MOT on vehicles for Caritas Care and have seen the fantastic work they do.  I also have first-hand experience of the invaluable support this service gives to people with a learning disability and their families and I know the vehicle will be put to good use.

It meant everything to see the smiles on everyone’s faces when I handed over the keys on the 9th of March and there was a real buzz of excitement around it.  If this donation can help to open up more opportunities for day trips out, allow more people to attend events and enjoy life, then it has already done the job.”

Dale Tomlinson, Head of Adult and Community Services said, “This donation is incredible and generous beyond belief.  We at VIP are delighted and we can’t thank Carl and his business enough for their kindness.

Having an extra vehicle means we can take even more people out and provide them with more opportunities to explore different areas and experience new things.  There’s nothing we like more at VIP than getting people out into the environment to stimulate their senses, learn new things and most importantly, have fun!”

Bev Stevenson, Assistant Manager (VIP) said “It was such an exciting day to be handed the keys to this lovely car.  The whole service were so pleased to see it drive into the grounds.  We are now drawing lots for who gets to take it on its first outing! A huge thank you to Kramer Motors for putting a big smile on everyone’s face here at VIP, we absolutely love it!”
