Rashda and Mo adopted their two children aged 7 and five at the end of 2020. The children had been living with them for over a year by then. The children shared Rashda and Mo’s ethnicity and religion. They had been living with a WB foster carer who did her best to promote their identity and religion but they really enjoyed learning about their religion. Rashda and Mo worked hard to make the children feel safe and part of their family. Lockdown was hard because they were isolated from their support network but the children really enjoyed the security of home and the experience enabled them to really gel as a family. The children attended school throughout and although the older child needed some extra support they made good progress.
