Caritas Care guests and staff were delivered a real treat by our Learning Disability Services at this years Annual General Meeting and Celebration event on Thursday 14th July.
At the first of a 3 year plan to showcase and celebrate the work of Caritas Care, Learning Disability Services, which includes the FX project, VIP Day Services, Supported Living and REACT, put on a performance which not only moved the audience to tears, but received a standing ovation from the 100 people attending.
FX wowed the audience with their wheelchair dance to Swan Lake, VIP had everybody clapping and cheering to their dance performance to Ride on Time, and Supported Living shared with us their individual achievements and learning from cooking to playing a musical instrument.
But, the best was yet to come… the finale! A short film (seen below) starring members of all the Learning Disability Services recorded singing and performing Labi Siffre’s Something Inside so Strong. Many months of rehearsing and having lots of fun went into making this film and it was a real treat and delight to watch.

Our special thanks goes to Mel at Meladrama for all her hard work and efforts in coordinating and producing this magnificent piece of work that will stay with us for a long time to come.
Trustee Jane Robinson quoted “ It was wonderful, I’m very proud to be playing a small part in supporting all you do. The AGM was a celebration of what we can do when we work together, and tap into the unique gifts of each person. Caritas Care certainly does have Talent”
