At Plungington Community Centre, our mission is clear: no one should go hungry. Every week, we proudly provide essential food parcels to those in need within the Plungington community. We are committed to supporting local people during challenging times, distributing over 25 food parcels each week to local households who rely on our services.
Making a Difference with Our Food Club
Our Food Club is a vital resource for the community, ensuring that everyone has access to basic necessities. Ben Clayton, Plungington Community Centre Manager, says, “Our food club is an important resource for our community, many of whom are facing challenging times. With your help, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Whether you’re able to donate non-perishable food items or volunteer your time, every little bit helps.”
Donate or Volunteer
Community support is essential for us to be able to feed as many people as possible and you can contribute in various ways:
- Donate Non-Perishable Food Items: Your donations help us stock our food parcels with essential every day items.
- Volunteer Your Time: Assist with sorting and packing food parcels.
Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference.
Meet and Eat: More Than Just a Meal
In addition to our food parcels, we host Meet and Eat sessions. These gatherings provide hot, nutritious meals to those in need and create an opportunity for people to come together to chat and talk. Ben Clayton states, “We hold our Meet and Eat sessions to provide hot meals to people as part of our mission to combat loneliness and ensure that people receive a nutritious meal as often as we are able to.”
Our Meet and Eat sessions are more than just about food—they are about community, support, and connection.
