If you have been thinking about transferring to another fostering agency and finding the time has come to make a move, we are happy to talk to you.
We will do everything we can to support you through this process and useful guidance can be found by downloading the Transfer of Foster Carer Protocol from The Fostering Network.
Caritas Care is a non for profit fostering agency committed to providing safe, loving and caring homes for children and young people who are unable to live with their own families. We believe that foster families make a positive impact on the lives of these children and young people who require short or long-term foster care.
At Caritas Care you will receive:
- Competitive fostering weekly allowance
- Training and development opportunities.
- Support from a qualified social worker.
- 24/7 on call system
- Regular activities for children and young people
- Foster carer support groups and socials
- The Fostering Network Membership
If you have a placement:
At Caritas Care we keep the child’s interests at the core of everything we do and so our first consideration is to ensure that any child or children’s placement remains secure and stable. The process will be advised according to The Transfer of Foster Carers Protocol 2014. All agencies involved will meet to discuss how to proceed with the transfer to ensure minimum disruption for any child or children in placement.
If you do not have a placement:
This process is much simpler. All that is required is for you to tender your resignation with your current agency in writing (a notice period of 28 days is normally required), and you can then submit your application to Caritas Care.
If you are thinking of changing agencies and want to find out more about the benefits and support available from Caritas Care’s fostering service, please contact us on 0800 652 6955.
