Today, 13 February, 2020 we celebrated with Ian Clarkson to mark the occasion of 20 years working at Caritas Care.
Ian started his journey with Caritas Care in our Day Service, but soon found he wanted to do a little bit more. So, in 2000, Ian was asked if he would like to become a paid member of the Caritas Care team and began he new role as ‘Maintenance Assistant’ immediately. His duties back then were to check the oil in the vehicles and gardening.
Later, his duties increased and he now makes sure our paths and courtyard are swept, does the paper shredding, waters the plants in the offices, goes for any keys that need cutting and does the re-cycling.
Ian loves music and is often seen with his headphones in. He loves cars, all cars! And likes to go to the cinema to watch the latest films.
His line manager Carol said “On may occasion I can sing the first line of a song and Ian will know the rest (which is a miracle in itself with my voice)!
I asked him once what his favourite job was at Caritas Care and he replied ‘eating biscuits’; this is very typical of Ian’s clever sense of humour.”
I enjoy working with Ian and hope we have many more years of his company.”
Ian was presented with a card and gift from his colleagues at Caritas Care and then we did what Ian loves most…ate biscuits!
Congratulations Ian on 20 years service….here’s to 20 more!
